Is this medical advice?
No — EthaMap is a wellness and educational product, not a medical test. It won’t diagnose anything or tell you how much is safe to drink. But “not medical” doesn’t mean “not real.” Your report is built on some of the most well-studied genes in human biology — like ALDH2 and ADH1B — the ones that control how your body turns alcohol into acetaldehyde and clears it. That’s the actual science behind why you flush, why some nights leave you rough, and why certain drinks suit you better than others. We take that established research and turn it into plain-language insights you can use — no lab coat required.
Who is it for?
Honestly? Almost anyone who drinks. If you’ve ever wondered why a drink hits you differently than your friends, why some nights leave you feeling rough, or which drinks are actually worth ordering — this is for you. It’s a favorite for the curious: the friend who loves craft cocktails or wine, the college grad figuring out what agrees with them, or anyone who just wants their nights out to be better. It also makes a genuinely original gift — for the person who has everything, or a memorable present from a parent. Whether you drink often or just want the times you do to count, EthaMap makes them smarter.
How does it actually work?
Three steps. You swab the inside of your cheek (two painless minutes, no needles). You mail it back in the prepaid envelope to our CLIA-certified lab. Then we read your DNA, run it through our analysis, and email you your personalized DrinkFit report — your scores, your matched drinks, and how your body handles what’s in the glass.
What’s in my report?
Your DrinkFit Score (an at-a-glance read on your fit), your Metabolism Profile (how your body breaks alcohol down and clears it), your Caffeine Sensitivity, your Taste & Ingredient Fit, your Matched Drinks ranked for you, and a personalized Recovery Blueprint to help you feel better the next day. The $99 kit adds a Food & Ingredient Response, Occasion Pairings, and a Pocket Cheat Sheet.
Is my DNA private?
Completely — and protecting it is the foundation this whole company is built on. Your DNA is the most personal data you have, and we treat it that way. Our promise is simple: your genetic data is yours alone. We never sell it, never share it with employers, insurers, or advertisers, and never use it for anything beyond creating your report. It’s stored securely, and you stay in control — you can ask us to delete it at any time. We didn’t build EthaMap to collect data; we built it to help you, and keeping your DNA private is non-negotiable.
Who reads my sample?
A CLIA-certified laboratory — the same certification standard used by clinical labs across the U.S. Your report is also reviewed by our science and regulatory advisors before it ever reaches you.
How long does it take?
Your kit ships within a few business days. Once your swab reaches the lab, your report is usually ready in a few weeks — and the moment it’s live, it lands in your inbox.
What if my sample doesn’t work?
It happens occasionally, and it’s on us. We quality-check every sample, and if yours doesn’t pass, we’ll send a free re-swab. We’d rather redo it than hand you a report we’re not confident in.
What’s the difference between the two kits?
The $69 kit reads about 30 markers — your core body-match and matched drinks. The $99 kit reads 60 markers for sharper, more precise results, and adds a Food & Ingredient Response (how you handle caffeine, lactose, and histamine), Occasion Pairings, and a phone-saveable Pocket Cheat Sheet. More markers means more precise matches.
Which genes do you look at?
Mainly the well-established alcohol-metabolism genes — ALDH2 and ADH1B — plus supporting markers for metabolism, caffeine, taste, and ingredient response. Every insight in your report is explained in plain language with a confidence level, and where your data isn’t clear, we say so instead of guessing.
Can this tell me if I’m addicted or have a health condition?
No. EthaMap is wellness-only — it doesn’t assess addiction, disease risk, or any medical condition. It’s here to help you enjoy drinking smarter, not to diagnose anything.
